On May 23, Lomira softball beat Omro 13-0 in five innings to win a share of the Flyway Conference Championship for the first time in program history. Lomira (20-3, 12-2) started off fast against Omro (2-21, 0-14), featuring an opposite-field two-run home run from Taylor Bloohm, giving Lomira a 4-0 lead after the first inning. Bloohm drove in another run in the second inning after a Nora Buske single and a Savanna Frea double to increase the Lions’ lead to 5-0 over the Foxes.
Game Two at Laconia On May 22, Lomira baseball beat Laconia 6-3 to knock the Spartans out of the Flyway Conference championship race. Laconia (14-7, 9-5) scored first in the second game against Lomira (12-11, 7-7) to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. The Lions’ offense got going in the fourth inning with an RBI single from Jonah Mason with two outs, and then Mason scored to give the Lions a lead of 2-1. Lomira got a big blast from Weston Poth with a two-run home run over the left field fence to increase the Lions’ lead to 4-1, which was followed by Mason’s RBI double with two outs to extend their lead to 5-1 after five innings.

On May 13, Lomira baseball won 5-4 over WLA by scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Lomira (11-9, 6-6) was able to manufacture runs scored by Taylor Schaumberg and Brody Luedtke to take a 2-0 lead over WLA (11-9, 6-6) in the first inning. WLA scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take over the lead from the Lions with a score of 3-2.

On May 19, Lomira softball defeated Springs 11-1 in five innings on senior day for Nora Buske, Taylor Bloohm, and Savanna Frea. Lomira (18-3, 11-2) scored three runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead over Springs (14-9, 8-5), highlighted by a Bloohm two-run RBI single for the Lions. Springs scored their only run of the game in the second before Izzy Westphal started off the bottom of the second inning with a triple, and the Lions were able to score four runs in the inning, featuring a RBI single from Haleigh Caspary, to help Lomira take a 7-1 lead over the Ledgers.
Game Two vs Cambria-Friesland On May 10, Lomira softball defeated Cambria-Friesland 9-2 to cap off their 13th win in their last 14 games. Lomira (16-3) was trailing 1-0 to Cambria-Friesland (14-3) in the bottom of the first inning when Savanna Frea ripped a double to center to drive in two runs, and Taylor Bloohm followed with an RBI single to give the Lions a 3-1 lead. The Lions manufactured two runs in the third inning and one more run in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead before Cambria-Friesland scored their second run of the game in the top of the fifth inning to leave the score at 6-2 in favor of Lomira.
On May 9, Lomira baseball won 13-6 against Random Lake on the road in their non-conference matchup. Random Lake (13-4) scored the first run of the game in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead over Lomira (10-8). The Lions’ offense got going in the second inning with three singles from Jack Luedtke, Dalton Zingsheim, and Jackson Goebel to load the bases, which resulted in an RBI walk from Jonah Mason to tie the game at one. Lomira still had the bases loaded in the inning with two outs when Brody Luedtke blasted a grand slam over the left-field fence to give the Lions a 5-1 lead.
On May 10, the Lomira boys and girls track teams traveled to Waupun to compete in the Warrior Invitational. Lomira’s girls’ team finished in third place with 97 points and their boys’ team finished in fifth place with 50 points at the Invitational. First-place finishes by Whitney Witkowski in the 800m and 3200m and Hanna Faber in the 1600m, with second-place finishes by Carlie Priesgen in the shot put and Zoey Bauer in the 3200m, led the girls’ team on the day.
