Lomira Baseball Ends Spartans Conference Championship Hopes

Posted

On May 23, Lomira baseball lost 2-1 to KML on the road in their non-conference matchup.
Lomira (12-11) took a 1-0 lead over KML (19-5) in the first inning, thanks to an RBI single by Easton Zangl for the Lions.
The Chargers tied the game at one in the bottom of the second inning on a sac fly and scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning for a 2-1 win.

One highlight for the Lions in the game was a diving catch in left field by Taylor Schaumberg to keep the score tied at 1-1.
“The amazing diving catch by Taylor was one of the best catches I have seen a high school player make in the field,” said Head Coach Sid Lehman.
“I was happy with how the boys played today. We played a good game with a few things not going our way, and we asked some players to step into roles they haven’t had much experience in tonight, and they stepped up,” said Lehman. “Ty had a great day on the mound, and I was happy to see him really step up when the team needed him.”
