On May 19, the Lomira track team hosted the Flyway Conference track meet after it was rescheduled from May 16.
Lomira girls’ team finished in fifth place with 68 points, and the boys’ team finished in eighth place with 36.5
The Lomira girls’ team was led by their conference champions of Carlie Priesgen in the shot put for the second straight year, Whitney Witkowski in the 3200m, and the 4x800 relay team of Hanna Faber, Oelysea Olig, Zoey Bauer, and Witkowski.
The Lions’ boys’ team was paced by three-place finishes by Josh Polster in the shot put and Dawson Doyle in the triple jump.
At Campbellsport Invitational
On May 13, Lomira boys’ and girls’ track teams competed in the Campbellsport Invitational.
Lomira’s girls’ team finished in seventh place with 50 points, and the boys’ team finished in tenth place with 21 points.
The Lomira girls’ team was led by first-place finishes from Carlie Priesgen in the discus and second-place finishes by Priesgen in shot put and Whitney Witkowski in the 3200m at the Invite.
The Lions’ boys’ team was paced by Josh Polster’s second-place finish in the discus during the field events at the Invitational.
Lomira track will be competing at the Waupun Regional on May 27 at 4 p.m.
