Lions Beat Hornets with a Walkoff Win to Complete Comeback

On May 15, Lomira baseball beat Markesan 9-8 in eight innings at home in a walk-off win. Markesan (13-6) built a 4-0 lead over Lomira (4-15) going into the bottom of the second inning when Jackson Blooohm led off the inning with a single, followed by a RBI double from Nathan Leiter to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Hornets.

Lions Play Two Tough Opponents on the Road

On May 18, the Lomira girls' soccer team lost 5-0 to Beaver Dam on the road in their non-conference matchup.

Lomira Track has Three Conference Champions

On May 15, the Lomira girls track finished in fourth place with 65 points, and the boys finished in eighth place with 29 points at the Flyway Conference Track Meet at Mayville on a very pleasant spring day.

Lomira Softball Wins Flyway Conference Championship

On May 18, Lomira softball beat Springs 14-0 in five innings on the road to win their second consecutive Flyway Conference championship and the program’s first outright conference championship. Lomira (20-2, 13-1) scored four runs in the first inning, featuring RBI singles from Izzy Westphal and Briann Frea plus a RBI double from Haliegh Caspary to take a 4-0 lead over Springs (6-12, 5–9).

Lomira Girls Soccer Wins Two Consecutive Games

On May 7, the Lomira girls’ soccer team beat Dodgeland/Hustisford at home to win its second consecutive game. Liberty Luedtke scored in the first minute of the game for the Lions to take a 1-0 lead before Lily Martinez scored in the 17th minute and Rachel Fenrick added a goal at the 31st minute to give Lomira a 3-0 halftime lead.

On May 7, Lomira baseball defeated Mayville 2-1 on the road to split the season series between the two teams. Lomira (3-12, 2-8) broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Charlie Cole hit a single with two outs and Kolton Wagoner followed with a RBI triple to take a 1-0 lead over Mayville (6-8, 3-6).

Lions Have Multiple Winners at the Waupun Invitational

Lomira (17-2) broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Izzy Westphal and Kennedy Goebel scored runs after the Lions got the bases loaded with two outs to take a 2-0 lead over Mishicot (8-13). Haleigh Caspary hit a two-run RBI single with two outs in the fifth inning to increase the Lions’ lead to 4-0.
