Lions Beat Cardinals on the Road to Split Series

On May 11, Lomira baseball lost 15-3 to Kewaskum in five innings at home in the non-conference matchup.
Kewaskum (12-6) scored five runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from Kingston Grisolono and an RBI double from Landon Zak to give the Indians a 5-0 lead over Lomira (3-12).
The Indians added three more runs in the third inning, featuring a two-run RBI single from Cole Loser, expanding their lead to 8-0 over the Lions.
Kewaskum scored four runs in the third and three runs in the fifth to push their lead to 15-0 before the Lions scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the final score 15-3 in favor of the Indians.

At Mayville
On May 7, Lomira baseball defeated Mayville 2-1 on the road to split the season series between the two teams.
Lomira (3-12, 2-8) broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Charlie Cole hit a single with two outs and Kolton Wagoner followed with a RBI triple to take a 1-0 lead over Mayville (6-8, 3-6).
Jackson Bloohm hit an RBI single to increase the Lions’ lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning.
Mayville got an RBI double with two outs by Weston Teeters to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Lions after three innings.
Lomira’s Dawson Casper was able to secure the final out of the game with a strikeout with Mayville runners on second and third for the 2-1 Lomira win.
Logan Wendler got the win by pitching six plus innings with seven strikeouts for Lomira, and Kolton Wagoner led the offense with two hits.
Vs Mayville
On May 5, Lomira baseball lost 12-5 to Mayville at home in the first game of the series between the teams.
Mayville (6-8, 3-6) jumped out to a 4-0 lead over Lomira (3-12, 2-8) in the first inning, thanks to RBI singles from Tanner Schneider, Kevin Keller, and Cooper Raddemann.
Lomira scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning with RBI from Dawson Casper and Logan Wendler to close the gap on the scoreboard.
The Cardinals scored four runs in the fourth inning when facing two outs, featuring an RBI double from Schneider and a two-run RBI single with the bases loaded from Covyn Casper to increase their lead to 8-2.
Mayville added a run in the fifth, and Lomira scored a run in the sixth inning, making the score 9-3 in favor of the Cardinals.
The Cardinals scored three runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by a two-run RBI single from Weston Teeters to expand the Mayville lead to 12-3 before the Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, featuring an RBI double from Jackson Bloohm to make the final score 12-5.
Dawson Casper led the Lomira offense with four hits and two runs batted in the conference matchup.
Lomira baseball hosted Springs on May 12 after print time. The Lions will travel to Springs on May 14 and host Markesan on May 15, with game times at 5 p.m.
