Horicon’s road woes continued Thursday night as the Marshmen dropped their eighth consecutive away game, falling 6-5 to Lourdes Academy in a nonconference softball matchup on May 8.
The one-run loss marked the second straight contest in which Horicon (0-7) has come up just short, having also lost by a single run in their previous outing.
Lourdes Academy (9-4) extended its winning streak against Horicon to three games. The Knights were powered by a stellar performance from Zella Tidemanson, who dominated in the circle and contributed at the plate. Tidemanson struck out 12 batters over seven innings, surrendering just two earned runs on nine hits and issuing no walks. The 12 strikeouts mark her highest total since March.
Tidemanson also drove in two runs and doubled, finishing 1-for-2 at the plate.
Elliana Reichenberger led the Knights’ offense, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, a run scored and a double — her best hitting performance since March. Aubrey Schettle reached base in all four plate appearances, tallying a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Halle Nebl also made an impact, reaching base three times and scoring three runs with a double.
