The Mayville girls soccer team split a pair of matches during the week, falling on the road before bouncing back with a strong home victory on Parents' Night.
On Monday, May 4, the Lady Cardinals traveled to Central Wisconsin Christian (8-1), where they dropped an 8-0 decision against a tough CWC squad.
Mayville responded Thursday, May 7, with a 3-1 home win over Flyway Conference rival, Campbellsport, in front of the Parents Night crowd. Ady Christian led the offensive attack with two goals, both assisted by Brooke Waas. Ellie Wojahn added the Lady Cardinals’ third goal, assisted by Christian.
Goalkeeper Stella Hug helped secure the victory with four saves, allowing just one goal. Campbellsport’s lone score came on a well-placed cross during the match.
The win marked another step forward for the Lady Cardinals as they continued to show growth and improved teamwork throughout the season.
Looking forward, the Cardinals (2-8) take it on the road for non-conference play on Tuesday, May 12 at Hustisford (1-6) and Thursday at Watertown Luther Prep (4-2-1), kick off at 4:30 p.m.
