“We went 4-0 matches (8-1 in sets) this weekend with just eight players (five seniors, a junior, and two freshmen), and they gave everything they had and left it all out on the court for each other,” said Head Coach Lauren Nourse. “What stood out the most was their mindset with staying positive, having fun, and celebrating the small victories in each play.”
On September 25, the Lomira girls’ cross country team finished in first place with 55 points to win the Horicon River Run, and the boys’ team finished in 18th place with 314 points at River Bend Park.
On September 26, Lomira football beat Laconia 35-0 on the road for their second consecutive conference shutout. Lomira (5-1, 3-1) started their opening drive of the game at their own 49-yard line after a nice kick return by Aidan Campbell to start the game. The Lions got the drive going with an Elijah James 12-yard run, and got another first down on the drive when quarterback Keegan Kell connected with James for a 14-yard gain.
Lomira scored three goals in the first 25 minutes of the match and held a 3-1 lead at the halftime break against Berlin at home.
