It was Hustisford’s turn hosting Friday night’s game against conference opponent Columbus (3-1, 2-0) on Friday, Sept. 12.
The first quarter was dominated by the Cardinals as they scored on each of their four possessions to take a 28-0 lead going into the second quarter.
Columbus scored again early in the second quarter to make it 35-0, but Husticon’s (0-4, 0-2) offense started to click on their following possession.
Barrett Meyer connected with Reed Vorlob on a drive, and later threw to Kaleb Hodgson, who made a one-handed grab, to get to first and goal.
Meyer passed to Ethan Strieff for the touchdown, and the two-point conversion was good to make it 35-8.
Before halftime, Columbus scored again to make it 43-8 to start the second half.
Husticon found the end zone once more in the third quarter when Meyer threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Quin Jackl. The two-point conversion was good, as well. The Marshfalcons made it a 50-16 game.
However, Columbus didn’t let up on Husticon, and the final score ended up 64-16.
Horicon/Hustisford plays in Horicon this week against non-conference opponent Manitowoc Lutheran (4-0, 2-0) on Friday, Sept. 19.
