Lomira scored three goals in the first 25 minutes of the match and held a 3-1 lead at the halftime break against Berlin at home.
“With a limited lineup of players, with only one substitute, we were able to take an early lead, but we weren’t able to hold the early lead due to a different lineup that was brought to the pitch,” said Head Coach Chris Keiler. “As the game progressed, we were unable to hold the same level of intensity without a core group of substitutes, and Berlin took advantage by scoring four uncontested goals.”
The Lions held a 3-2 lead at the 60-minute mark of the match before Berlin scored the final two goals to secure the 4-3 win over Lomira.
“Finishing back-to-back games without substitutes, we simply were worn down and could not maintain the same level of intensity for 80 minutes for a second night,” said Keiler. “Despite the loss, we were able to control the majority of the possession and maintained control of the midfield.”

Lomira soccer hosts Campbellsport on September 30 and travels to WLA on October 2 with game times at 7 p.m.
