Lomira Track Season Wraps Up at Sectionals

On May 29, the Lomira track team had 17 athletes compete at the WIAA Division 3 Sectional at Horicon. The girls team was led by Hanna Faber’s fifth-place finish in the Pole Vault and Whitney Wikowski’s seventh-place finish in the 3200m for the Lions. Cole Geiger had a seventh-place finish in the Shot Put for the Lomira boys’ team.

Lomira Baseball Scores Five Runs in Seventh to Upset Ledgers

On May 28, Lomira baseball defeated Springs 6-5 on the road in the first round of the Division 3 WIAA Baseball Tournament in thrilling fashion. Lomira (5-17) scored the first run of the game in the first inning when Jackson Bloohm scored, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead over Springs (16-9). Springs proceeded to score the next five runs of the game to take a 5-1 lead going into the top of the seventh inning.

Lomira (23-3) broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Izzy Westphal hit a double over the left fielder’s head to drive in Trista Gassner, and Liy Christian hit a Sac Fly to get Westphal home to make the score 2-0 lead over WLA (14-10).
