The Mayville girls’ varsity soccer team kicked off their season with an impressive 4-0 showing in their home opener on Thursday, April 3, at Ribbons Field against Waukesha South.
Mayville junior Ellie Wojahn set the tone early, netting a hat trick in the first half with key assists from Natalie Jansen and Layla Budahn. She continued her dominant performance in the second half, adding a fourth goal off a setup from Isabelle Neumeyer.
Goalkeeper Ava Konrad stood strong in net, recording five saves to help anchor the defense.
“The team played well for the first game. We have some things to work on, but it was a solid start,” said Head Coach Dale Amundson.
