The Mayville Middle School cross country team wrapped up its season on a high note at the 2025 Wisc. Middle School Cross Country Meet, held Saturday, October 11, at Weyauwega-Fremont High School. With more than 280 runners competing in both the boys’ and girls’ races, it was a strong showing against the toughest field of the year.
Eli Mageski led the Cardinals, placing 34th (12:06.8) and earning a state medal with his fastest 3,200-meter time to date. Despite battling side pain, Marcus Genz (12:28.3) turned in his best race of the season with a 57th-place finish. Keller Knutson (12:56.0) also ran his personal best, coming in at 96th-place, and Cody Lindgren (14:49.7) capped his season with a personal-best performance, placing 212th.
In the girls’ race, Nora Billington (13:09.9) delivered a steady effort, finishing 47th-place with a time nearly identical to her state performance last season.
The junior high squad will close out its season on Thursday, October 16, at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac. The junior high race begins at 5:25 p.m.
