Mayville Graduate Makes History as First Wisconsin FFA State Officer

Posted

MAYVILLE — A piece of Mayville FFA history was made last week at the 2026 Wisconsin FFA State Convention when recent Mayville High School graduate Owen Bronecki was elected to serve as a 2026-27 Wisconsin FFA State Officer.

Bronecki becomes the first member in Mayville FFA history to earn a position on the prestigious state officer team, representing more than 28,000 FFA members across Wisconsin during the coming year.

A longtime leader within the chapter, Bronecki served as Mayville FFA president during the 2025-26 school year, helping guide chapter activities, community service projects and leadership development opportunities for fellow members.

The announcement came June 18 during the fifth general session of the Wisconsin FFA State Convention after a rigorous week-long selection process that tested candidates' leadership abilities, communication skills, agricultural knowledge and vision for the organization.

According to Mayville FFA Advisor Jake Cramer, Bronecki's achievement reflects years of dedication and growth within the program.

"Incredibly proud of Owen, watching him grow from his first day of Ag Class in eighth grade to being elected as Mayville FFA's first Wisconsin FFA Officer," Cramer shared. "The last five years have flown by and I can't wait to watch as you represent over 28,000 Wisconsin FFA members in the blue jacket over the next year."

Candidates seeking a state officer position faced an intensive evaluation process beginning Monday with personal and impromptu interviews, group discussions and prepared speeches. On Tuesday, candidates were introduced to Wisconsin FFA members statewide. Wednesday brought another hurdle when Bronecki was named among the finalists and met with Section 10 delegates to discuss his vision for the organization.

The week culminated Thursday evening when Bronecki's name was announced among the 10 members selected to serve as Wisconsin FFA State Officers for 2026-27.

"To say he earned this is an understatement," Mayville FFA officials stated in a social media post celebrating the accomplishment. "All the hard work, dedication and passion paid off when his name was called on the main stage."

Bronecki joins a distinguished officer team that includes Suki Gatica of Amery, Eli Bell of New Richmond, Josie Bailey of Tomah, Alyvia Ruegsegger of Black Hawk, Owen Moore of Mishicot, Rylee Brattlie of Cambridge, Oscar Stowell of Waupun, Jordan Berg of Granton and Natalie Rieth of Oconto Falls.

Locally, Bronecki's election means Dodge County will have two representatives on the state officer team, as Oscar Stowell of Waupun FFA was also selected.

As a state officer, Bronecki will spend the next year traveling throughout Wisconsin, leading conferences, conducting workshops, visiting local chapters and serving as an ambassador for agricultural education and the FFA organization.

For Mayville FFA, the milestone marks a new chapter in the chapter's history and provides a lasting example of the opportunities available through agricultural education and leadership development.

"Owen, your Mayville FFA family could not be prouder of you," the chapter wrote. "We know you are going to do incredible things for our state association this year."
