Mayville High School senior Brent Seiler is named Rotary Student of the Month for February 2025. He addressed Mayville Rotary Club members at their last meeting and shared the following about himself:
“My name is Brent Seiler, and I am very grateful to be chosen as the February Rotary Student of the Month. Mayville High School has set a great foundation in shaping the person I am today. It has provided me with countless opportunities to grow both academically and athletically, laying the groundwork for my future endeavors. Throughout my high school career, I have had the privilege of participating in three varsity sports: basketball, baseball, and football. These have been some of the most rewarding experiences throughout my years. Balancing these activities with a rigorous academic schedule has taught me the importance of time management and helped me develop perseverance, teamwork, and leadership.
“In the classroom, I have strived for excellence, maintaining over a 3.90 GPA while taking multiple AP courses. Being ranked in the top 10 of my senior class is an accomplishment I am incredibly proud of, as it reflects the dedication I have put into my education. My academic pursuits have been recognized by me receiving the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Academic All-State award for football, an honor that celebrates both athletic and academic achievement. To be recognized for maintaining a 3.50 GPA or higher while competing in such a physical sport was a great feeling.
“Another one of my most significant accomplishments at Mayville was earning a varsity letter in all three sports I participated in. This recognition stands as a testament to the hard work and commitment I have shown on and off the field. Additionally, being named a captain of my varsity basketball team was an honor that allowed me to demonstrate leadership and serve as a role model for my teammates.
“Outside of sports, my involvement in the National Honor Society has been a meaningful aspect of my high school career as well. Being selected for this honor reflected my good character and dedication to service. Over my four years, I accumulated over 150 service hours, with the most impactful experience being the coaching of a 5th and 6th grade basketball team. This volunteer work allowed me to give back to the community and pass on the skills and values I have learned over the years.
“As I prepare to attend UW-La Crosse in the fall to pursue a degree in Business Analytics, I look forward to the next chapter in my journey. Mayville High School has truly shaped me into the individual I am today, and I am excited to see where my future takes me.”
