Ronald J. Stommel, 70, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on September 25, 1954, in Fond du Lac, the son of Anthony and Alice E. Steffan Stommel.
He was a proud graduate of Mayville High School, Class of 1972.
Ron worked as a manager for Crystal Springs Apartments, retiring in 2017.
Ron was known for his warm personality and generous spirit; he was always willing to lend a helping hand. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling. Weekends often found him cheering on his favorite teams, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
He is survived by his brother, Richard (Ruby) Stommel of West Bend; his sister, Patricia Gust of Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law, Adeline Stommel and Joyce Stommel, both of Mayville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Elizabeth (Les) Adelmeyer, Donald Stommel, and Robert Stommel; his brother-in-law, Dieter Gust; four nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.
SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, with Rev. Chris Deaner-Rogers officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lomira.
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to a charity of one’s choice in Ron’s memory.
