The Cardinals had a packed Thursday night, hosting Laconia, North Fond du Lac/Springs, and Campbellsport for a quad meet on parent and youth wrestling night. Due to weather-related cancellations, NFDL also held its senior night at the event, making for an action-filled evening on the mat.
Thursday’s home quad proved to be more challenging for the Cardinals. They fell to Laconia 66-12, with Logan Puls (113) and Parker Bangart (126) securing Mayville’s only wins by forfeit. The team then battled against North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs, taking a 48-22 loss. Schuelke (157) won by major decision (15-7), while Carpenter (190) and Kellen Schaefer (215) earned impressive pins.
