February 11, 2025 - Mayville, WI - The Mayville (5-17, 1-11) girls basketball team struggled against a dominant Laconia (17- 3, 11- 0) squad on Tuesday, Feb. 11, falling 79-12 in conference action.
Laconia set the tone early, racing to a commanding 50-8 halftime lead and never looking back. Mayville struggled to find its offensive rhythm, managing just five field goals and one free throw, while 36 turnovers disrupted the team’s flow.
Chassia Geschke led the Cardinals with five points, including the team’s lone three-pointer. Pearl Witek and Ellie Wojahn each added two points, while Molly Grulke and Reagan Hardesty chipped in one point apiece. Defensively, Chassia Geschke made an impact on the boards pulling down seven rebounds.

The Mayville girls basketball team traveled to North Fond du Lac (12-9, 6-6) Friday night. Game time was moved up to 6 p.m. to try and beat the snow. The Cardinals couldn’t find their rhythm, falling 47-22 to North Fond du Lac.
Turnovers continued to plague the Cardinals, making it difficult to generate scoring opportunities. North Fond du Lac built a 27-13 lead by halftime and maintained control throughout the second half. Despite Mayville’s efforts, they couldn’t close the gap as offensive miscues proved costly.
The Cardinals travel to Lomira (15-8, 8-5) for a conference match-up on Thursday, Feb. 20, tip-off at 7 p.m.
