The Horicon Marshmen baseball team hosted non-conference rivals, the Mayville Cardinals, on Friday, April 11 at Discher Park.
Horicon’s defense struggled to stop the offensive onslaught by the Cardinals, and were kept scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Marshmen recorded two RBIs from Cole Berggren and Jay Graven for the only two runs in the game.
Owen Muche took the loss on the mound. He pitched two innings, allowed five hits, three earned runs, and one walk, while striking out two.
This week, they traveled to Oakfield on Tuesday, April 15 and then host Oakfield on Thursday, April 17 at 5 p.m.

The Horicon Marshmen built a five-run lead early in the game.
Brady Anderson started on the mound for the Marshmen. He earned the victory by giving up three hits, four runs (one earned) over five-and-one-third innings. Anderson struck out seven and walked four.
Jay Graven appeared in relief, throwing one-and-two-third innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs.
Marshmen Start Conference Play with Win

Reed Vorlob started for Horicon and pitched a complete game, striking out 10 batters. He allowed three hits, one run (zero earned) while only walking two.
