Lowell B. Boelk, 90, of Brownsville, died on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on March 20, 1935, in Waupun, the son of Erwin and Elma Buchholz Boelk.
On May 7, 1955, he married Sally J. Schwefel at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville.
Lowell farmed in Oak Center with his parents, and eventually took over ownership of the farm, along with starting his own milk route. He worked at butcher shops for Lomira and Mayville.
Lowell was a very active member of Luther Memorial Church, where he held offices and ushered up into his 80s. Lowell served on the Town of Byron Board for 34 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and baseball, not only playing, but managing and umpiring.
He is survived by his, wife Sally Boelk; his children, Dennis (Deb) Boelk of Brownsville, Tim (Fay) Boelk of Taycheedah, Wanda (Kevin) Sternet of Brownsville; his grandchildren, Angela, Jami, Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Jennifer, Marcia and Shawn; 20 great-grandchildren; his sister, Diane (Kenneth) Arndt of Waupun; his brother, Robert (Donna) Boelk of Montello; his sisters and brother-in-law, Lorna Boelk of Waupun, Paul Schwefel of South Byron, June Nelson of Beaver Dam, and Kathy Schwefel of Brownsville, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Duane (Donna) Boelk, Eugene Boelk, Charlene Fenrick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine Schwefel, James Nelson, William Schwefel, Jim and Sandy Schwefel; nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family greeted friends and relatives from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac.
SERVICES: Memorial services were held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at Luther Memorial Church, with Rev. Andrew Schaller officiating. Spring inurnment will be held at Byron Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Luther Memorial Church, WLA, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
