On February 14, Lomira girls wrestling had three wrestlers advance to Sectionals.
Lomira had Chloe Loughrin in the 107 weight class, Lavanna Strehlow in the 138 weight class, and Aeryona Cronin in the 185 weight class all qualify for Sectionals at Dodgeland High School.
At Cedar Grove-Belgium
On February 15, the Lomira boys wrestling team qualified for team sectionals with 201.5 pts at the Cedar Grove-Belgium Regional.
The Lions had three regional champions with Jordan Lisiecki (113 weight class) defeating last year’s 5th place state finisher, Marshall Hanke (138 weight class) defeating the #2 ranked wrestler in Division 3 in the finals, and a dominating performance from Marek Lisiecki (150 weight class), winning their individual weight class to qualify for Sectionals.
Lomira had Colin Weber (144 weight class), Kolton Wagoner (165 weight class), and Jayden Gibson (175 weight class) qualify for Sectionals by placing in the top four at the Division 3 Regional.
“We did so well in the team score, with only six wrestlers advancing to sectionals, because every single one of our 13 wrestlers scored points, with many of them outplacing their seed in the tournament,” said Head Coach Adam Kinyon. “It was truly a team effort on Saturday, and that is something that the whole team can be proud of.”
Lomira boys wrestling has team sectionals at Oostburg on February 18 and individual sectionals at Dodgeland on February 22. Lomira girls wrestling goes to Dodgeland for Sectionals on February 21.
