Lomira Girls Basketball Falls to Omro
On January 24, Lomira girls basketball lost 56-41 to Omro in a rescheduled conference contest from January 21.
Omro (13-4, 6-2) got off to a fast and strong start against Lomira (10-7, 5-3) with a 17-0 lead at the 10:50 mark of the first half.
Lomira’s Savanna Frea got a basket for two points before the Foxes extended their lead out to 29-10 with three minutes left in the first half.
The Lions were able to outscore the Foxes 7-4 during the last three minutes of the first half to put the halftime score at 33-17 with Omro in the lead.
Josie Christian got Lomira started in the right direction with a basket in the second half but Omro was able to push their lead out to 44-26.
Lomira got more scoring from J. Christian to help close Omro’s big lead in the second half with her made basket and a free throw with 1:13 left in the game. The Foxes held a 48-41 lead over the Lions.
Omro was able to make their free throws in the last minute of the game to close out their 56-41 road win over Lomira.
The Lions were led by Josie Christian’s 23 points in their conference, home game.
Lomira girls basketball traveled to Horicon on January 28 at 7:15 p.m., then they travel to NFDL on January at 7 p.m. and finally to Kewaskum on February 3 at 7:15 p.m.
