While senior Cyriana Reinwald hit her 1,000 career-points milestone on Thursday, Jan. 23 while at home, the team was not able to defeat Lourdes Academy, who is undefeated, 7-0, in the Trailways-South Conference.
The game was tied up 21-21 at halftime.
In the second half, the Marshladies fell behind, scoring 14 points to Lourdes’ 26 points, making the difference in the 47-35 loss.
“We did a nice job of controlling the tempo and held Lourdes’ leading scorer, Hailee Bauer, under her scoring average, and we held Lourdes to under 33% as a team shooting from the field,” said Head Coach Ben Harris. “In the end, we couldn’t score enough and lost 47-35. It was our best defensive effort of the year, and it was an entertaining game to watch.”
Reinwald and Mady Rinderle scored 12 points each and Sarah Hodgson contributed the other 11. Hodgson also grabbed 17 rebounds in the game.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, Horicon played Lomira at home. Then on Thursday, Jan. 30 they will play C.W.C. at home at 5:45 p.m.
