David John LeFeber of Hartford, transitioned to Heaven peacefully, without pain, at AngelsGrace Hospice on July 3, 2026, after falling and suffering a traumatic brain injury February 28.
Dave was born on September 12, 1950, in Milwaukee to John and Suzanne “Noonie” (Leland) LeFeber.
Grateful to God daily for all the blessings that he had received, David lived his life humbly serving others. He was an honorable man, known for his wisdom, generosity, humility and willingness to help. He was passionate about cars, especially teaching their history and supporting others in their car adventures.
Before he retired, Dave was a faithful employee of Steel Craft and loved to creatively solve problems and work with his skilled coworkers there. He was proud to be a fourth-generation Rotarian and actively served those around him on the boards of Slinger-Allenton Rotary, Citizen’s Advocacy, the Wisconsin Automotive Museum, and Antique Electric Car Club as well as president of The Packard Club and the Wisconsin Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Dave loved visiting with his friends at local and national car shows. He also enjoyed nature, boating, playing cards, and eating dark chocolate.
He was the beloved husband of his wife, Lyn (MariLyn) for 44 years; faithful father to Melinda (Matt) Freeland, Elizabeth (Ryan) Bowser, and Jonathan (Serena) LeFeber; and loving “Pa” to his grandchildren, August and Adeline Freeland, Emet Bowser, and Remington and Sloane LeFeber. He is further survived by his wonderful siblings, Bill (Sue) LeFeber, Kathy (John) Nelson, and Bob (Sally) LeFeber; siblings-in-law, Steve (Lesley) Mylrea, Dave (Trudy) Mylrea, and Sharon (Therese) Mylrea; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Noonie; in-laws, Earl and Marian Mylrea; sister-in-law, Therese Curran; and granddaughter, Rayna Elizabeth Bowser.
A visitation will be held on July 24 at 9 a.m. at Faith Bible Alliance Church of Neosho. The celebration service starts at 11 a.m., with a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following. Details are available at www.shimonfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Slinger-Allenton Rotary for the Rotary International Foundation. Non-perishable food donations to the Community Pantry will be received at the visitation and luncheon.
