Daniel Mark Wolter

   On Christmas Eve, Daniel Mark Wolter, 68, passed away in the comfort of his home after an illness from cancer.
   Daniel is the son of Reinhardt and JoAn Wolter.
   Dan graduated from St. Mary Catholic School in Mayville, Mayville High School, and Nicolet Technical College in Rhinelander, where he studied forestry. Dan then adopted the Rhinelander area as his "forever home" with its excellent walleye fishing and bountiful deer hunting.
   Dan met and married Deborah Pearl Lighthall of Hazelhurst. They lived their married life at Pine Lake, where they raised their family.
   Dan worked for Hagney Loggers, Inc., spending 35 years as a logger and field mechanic. At the end of his working career until his retirement, he worked at Sawinski Brothers' Farms, Inc., planting and harvesting potatoes as well as a field mechanic in northern Wisconsin and in Missouri.
   Daniel is survived by his wife, Deborah; their children, Heather JoAnn, Daniel Ryan, Amy Lynn , and Melissa Jo, as well as 18 grandchildren, Kayleigh, Gage, Parker, Noah, Austin, Chase, Madeline, Landan, Masan, Brayden, Myleigh, McKayla, Maddison, Maleah, Riley, Kendall, Leighton, and Beckett; his mother, JoAn Wolter; siblings, Monica (Michael) Brummond, Kathleen (Jacob) Batzler, Collette (Larry) Villwock; mother-in-law, Florence Lighthall; brother-in-law, Wayne Lighthall; maternal uncle, Carl (Anne) Firehammer; and paternal aunt, Sharon (Stanley) Wolter; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
   Dan was preceded in death by his father, Reiny; brother, Brian Wolter; sister, Patricia and her husband, Neil Schraufnagel; father-in-law, Daryl; sister-in-law, Nancy Lighthall; infant grandson, Bently; paternal grandparents, Reinhardt and Julia Wolter of Mayville; and maternal grandparents, Carl and Nona Firehammer of Horicon.
   Cremation took place. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander with Fr. Christopher Kemp as presider. Burial will be at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Hazelhurst.
   Visitation will take place on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Nativity of our Lord Church in Rhinelander from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m.
   A special Thank You to the Hospice personnel for their warm and loving care given to Dan and his family. A special Thank You to the Eucharistic Ministers from Nativity Church. Dan always looked forward to those Wednesday visits.
