Ronald K. Leonard
Ronald K. Leonard died November 8, 2021, of Parkinson’s in Galena, IL.
Ron had a long career as a product design engineer with Deere & Company in Des Moines, Horicon, and Waterloo.
Ron was an associate professor of the ABE Department at Iowa State University at the time of his death.
Ron was an avid hunter, sports enthusiast, accomplished woodworker, published author, and poet. He loved following the Iowa State Cyclones.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth (Mullenix) Leonard; children: Delaine Leonard, Austin, TX; Dan Leonard, Indian Trail, NC; and Diane (Thomas) Gundrum, Milwaukee; grandchildren, Megan and Trevor Gundrum; and sisters, Mary Jane Foutch and Betty Ringstad.
The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, is assisting the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald and Elizabeth Leonard Leadership in Creativity and Inspiration Scholarship at Iowa State University or to the National Academy of Engineering.
