Lloyd V. Behling Jr.


   Lloyd V. Behling Jr., 73, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Randolph Health Services in Randolph.   A visitation for Lloyd was held on Friday, Dec. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. Interment followed at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.   Lloyd was born the son of Lloyd Sr and Violet (Reineck) Behling on May 7, 1951, in Hartford.   He was a graduate of Reeseville High School.   Lloyd was united in marriage to his first wife Patricia Marx on May 18, 1970, in Juneau. Patricia passed away in 2005. Lloyd found love and was united in marriage to Peggy Tooley on July 28, 2018, at the Fireman’s Park in Mayville.    Lloyd worked for over 20 years as a welder at Rumar. He and Peggy were good patrons of the Mayville American Legion and was instrumental in starting the Wednesday Night Legion Group. Lloyd loved his tractors; it didn’t matter the color or kind. If he could buy it, he liked it. Lloyd loved a good deal and often could be found attending auctions and garage sales. He lived for WWE and looked forward to Monday Night Raw.    Above all else, Lloyd loved his family and looked for ways to create special moments with them. He always could be found with a candy bar or tootsie rolls in his pocket picked out specially for each grandchild to enjoy.    Lloyd is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Bobbi Jo Behling, Chad (Lynn) Behling, Briget (Ryan) Pluim, Kristine Reible, Tim (Jackie) Russell, Sara Jo (John) Moen, and Scott (DeAnna) Russell. Lester G. Weis

Lester G. Weis


   Lester G. Weis, 85, of Campbellsport, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at Liberty House in Fond du Lac.   He was born on August 28, 1939, in the Town of Ashford, the son of the late Gregor and Margaret (nee Thill) Weis.    On April 15, 1961, Lester was united in marriage to Elaine G. Ritger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allenton.   He was a member of U.S. Army National Guard and was called up to active duty at Fort Lewis, WA, for one year.   Lester worked at Regal Ware and the Gehl Company before retiring. Lester enjoyed fishing, hunting, walking, gardening, mopeding, and biking, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.   Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elaine; children, Lisa (Mike) Pionke, Charles (Kecia) Weis, and Christine (Kevin) Kohlmann; grandchildren, Ryan (Pam), Cheryl (Jim), Aaron (Britt), Nathan, Dan (Sara), Sara (Andrew), Jared, Ethan, and Jonathon (Emily); great-grandchildren, Allison, Eli, Gavin, Devon, Kinsley, Stella, Braxton, Bryson, Leo, Hal, Zaria, Ashley, Autumn, and Maggie; sisters, Doris (Willy) Rusch, Caroline Thuesch, and Florence (Tom) Flood; brothers, Norbert (Ruth) Weis, Alvin (Gloria) Weis, and Richard (Kelly) Weis; sister-in-law, Martha Weis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   Along with his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Beisbier; brother, Eugene Weis; and brothers-in-law, Cornelius Beisbier, and Frank Theusch.   Visitation for Lester was held Saturday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport.   A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 12 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Church with Rev. Mark Jones Officiating. Willard “Willie” Roskopf

Willard “Willie” Roskopf


   Willard "Willie" Roskopf, 89, of Mayville, left the farm on December 22, 2024, to till the fields up above.    Willie was born on the family farm to Louis and Elsie (Jacque) Roskopf in Menomonee Falls. Willie served in the U.S. Army Reserve, 84th “Railsplitters” Division.    Willie was united in marriage to Dolores Diderrich, a farmer’s daughter, on June 7, 1958, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Brown Deer. Together they moved their family to rural Mayville in 1962 to farm. Willie was thankful for all the help from Dolores and his six children with the farmwork.    Willie was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with his buddies. He also enjoyed traveling with Dolores to play the one-armed bandit.   Willie will be deeply missed by his children, Peter (Liz), Paul (special friend, Shawn), Andrew (Denise), John (special friend, Lori), Susan (Brad Porter), and Thomas; a herd of grandchildren, Jeremy (Stefanie), Jason, Jena (Miguel), Levi (Sarah), Brenton (Maggie), Matt (Mallory), Justin, Emily (Chris), Adam (Natalie), Rachael, Tate, Myls (Sway) and Ireland (Bryson); and a flock of great-grandchildren, Reese, Riggs, Miguel Jr., Aria, Lilly, Emmett, Aiden, Boden, Lennon, Finley, Quinn, Macy, Hayes and Thalia; his sister, Mary Krumbiegel and his sister-in-law, Lois Diderrich. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.    Willie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores; his parents; his five brothers; two sisters and numerous other family members.    Memorials in Willie’s honor may be directed to St. Mary’s Congregation of Mayville.   The family would like to thank Amanda and Heather at SSM Hospice and Dr. Filip Troiki at the SSM Cancer Care Center for their care and compassion in helping us take care of dad.    A Mass of Christian Burial for Willie took place on Thursday, Dec. 26, at 12 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville with Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. Anthony P. “Tony” Hesprich

Anthony P. “Tony” Hesprich


   Anthony P. “Tony” Hesprich, 94, of Lomira, passed away on December 20, 2024, at Ivy Manor in West Bend.   Tony Hesprich, born on November 4, 1930, to John and Isabel (Strobel) Hesprich, embarked on a life filled with dedication and community spirit.   On July 9, 1955, he married Mary Ann Schraufnagel at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy, a union that lasted until Mary Ann's passing on September 22, 2005. They had made 50 years of marriage.   Tony, the proud third-generation custodian of his family's farm, which took root in Lomira in 1891, was a man of many passions. Tony and his father started and produced their own hybrid seed company on the farm called Wisconsin Experiment Association, which later was called Wisconsin Crop Improvement Association.   His love for sports was evident as he coached basketball at St. Mary's Catholic School (CCLT) and pitched in the Lomira League until he was 59 years old. During his high school years, he thrived in football, basketball, and baseball.   Tony was an active member of the Lomira 4-H Clover Leaves and a chapter alumnus of the Knights of Columbus. He also played a pivotal role as a founding member of the FFA Alumni in Lomira. His dedication to education shone through his 22 years of service on the Lomira School Board.   A devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira, Tony contributed his voice to the choir, served as a Eucharistic minister and lector, assisted the priest at the nursing home, and did prayer services and brought communion to the nursing home. Along with the communion and prayer service, Tony would visit the residents almost daily at Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira. He was also an active member of the Legion of Mary Milwaukee North Side Curia, where he served as president as well as the Lomira Legion of Mary group, embodying a life of service and faith.    Those Tony leaves behind to cherish his memory include seven children, Deb Schellinger, Linda (Rick) Heinecke, Pete (Donna) Hesprich, Dan (Julie) Hesprich, Nick Hesprich, Bob (Janet) Hesprich, and Mary Jo (Jim) Wendling; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Hesprich; grandchildren, Becki Schellinger, Tabitha Schellinger, Kevin (Christie) Schellinger, Vanessa (Joe) Walter, Adam Heinecke, Ben Heinecke, Matt (Jessica) Seiser, Tony (Katie) Seiser, Aaron (Kelly) Seiser, Danielle (Steve) Porter, Kyle (Elizabeth) Hesprich, Ashely (Justin) Perry, Kayla Crawford (Cameron), Joshua (Rachel) Hesprich, Ryan (Kayla) Hesprich, Nicole (Cody) Behl, Tanya (Josh) Lawrenz, Zachary (Samantha) Schmid, Lindsay (Ethan) Hackbarth, Will Wendling, Wes Wendling, and Ella Wendling; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Louise Held; a sister-in-law, ElDonna Schraufnagel; other relatives and friends.    In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary Ann Hesprich, Tony was preceded in death by a son, Paul Hesprich; a son-in-law, Jeff Schellinger; a daughter-in-law, Jane Hesprich; a great-granddaughter, Topanga Lee Lawrenz; his brothers and sisters, Raymond, Catherine, Joan, Francis, Rita, Dorothy, an infant brother, and Germaine; and his brothers and sisters-in-law.    VISITATION: Tony’s family greeted relatives and friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 699 Milwaukee Street, in Lomira, on Friday, Dec. 27, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Mary’s Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.   SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial for Tony was held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Gerald H. Rettler

Gerald H. Rettler


   Gerald H. Rettler of the Town of Auburn died on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at his home at the age of 72 years. He was born November 14, 1952, in Hartford to the late Donald and Frances (nee Ritger) Rettler.   On April 6, 1974, he was united in marriage to Jane Schmidt at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.   In 1978, he began working for the Fond du Lac County Highway Department. He retired in 2008 after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked part time plowing snow for the Town of Auburn.    He loved spending time outdoors. He shared his passion for hunting and fishing with his family, especially with his grandkids. He was a charter and co-founding member of the Avenue of the Giants Sportsman Club and Hunting Club. He had a natural talent for wielding a chainsaw. He also was a dedicated Packers and Brewers fan. There were very few Brewers games he missed, either in person or through tv or radio.   Above all else, he was a loving husband, proud dad and a kind and funny grandpa. He was a frequent and supportive spectator at their sports and other school events. He cherished his time as a coach, mentor and hunting and fishing buddy. He was a dependable and faithful babysitter.   Gerald fought hard through his illness. He measured the success of his treatments by how many deer hunting seasons he was able to enjoy.   Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jane; three children, Benjamin (Heather) of Slinger, Andrew (Susan) of Kohlsville and Melissa (Ricky) Kratz; ten grandchildren, Cameron Heesen (special friend Sydney), Clayton, Calvin and Kenzie Rettler, Lauren and Elsa Rettler and Kaylee, Abigail, Abel and Conner Kratz; six sisters and one brother, Mary Jane (Richard) Lang, Thomas (Susan), Carol (Sam) Maul, Joanne (Jim) Butler, Sharon (Keith) Kirchner, Barbie (Bryon) Nitz and Teresa (Ike) Eisenhauer; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Diane Zalewski, Joyce (Robert) Bernhagen and David Schmidt (Brenda Benishek); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin infant brothers, Daniel and Donald; his parents-in-law, Harold and Ruth Schmidt and brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Jack Zalewski, Leroy and Mary Cay Schmidt   The family greeted relatives and friends during a period of visitation on Friday, Dec. 27, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum from 3 until 5:45 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Burial was Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton.   In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerald will benefit the Outdoors Clubs at Slinger and Kewaskum High Schools. It is the hope of Gerald’s family that these clubs will instill the passion for the outdoors that Gerald lived, loved and shared.   The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family. Thomas A. Minz

Thomas A. Minz


   Thomas A. Minz, 79, formerly of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.   He was born on July 5, 1945 in West Bend, the son of the late Hugo and Marie (nee Bohn) Minz.   On June 12, 1985, Tom was united in marriage to Barbara A. Kippenhan Schmitt in Las Vegas.   Tom and Barb operated Copper Mountain Arts; doing the production and sales. They enjoyed going to their cabin up north, traveling, and wintering first in Arizona and recently in Florida. Tom was a member of Jam for Kids for many years raising money for Special Olympics.   Survivors include his wife, Barb; daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Minz Stowe; step-son, Chad Schmitt (Erin); sister, Carol (Ken) Weddig; brother-in-law, Tim Flatt; Godson, Mark (Lori) Minz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, George Minz, Kaye Flatt, and Jean Minz; and his brother-in-law, Bruce Kippenhan.   Following Tom’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be no service.   If you wish, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Tom’s name.   The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and doctors in TICU at Froedtert Hospital for their concern and care of Tom.   Twohig Funeral Home is serving the family with guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com.

   Roland Erhard Gerth, 69, of rural Horicon, passed away unexpectedly in a farm accident at his farm on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024.   A funeral service for Roland took place on Monday, Dec. 23, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church - Browns Corner with the Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitationwas held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the church. Burial took place at St. John’s Cemetery.   Rollie was born the son of Horst and Norma (Zimmerman) Gerth on August 15, 1955, in Beaver Dam. He was a 1974 graduate of Mayville High School.   Rollie had worked at Reisteer Feed Supply for over 15 years. He was a lifelong farmer at Farm Homestead Farm and worked for Gerth Cattle Trucking, which he took over from his father.   Faith was important to Rollie, and he was an active member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Browns Corner, where he served his church as a lifelong usher.   In his spare time, Rollie enjoyed gardening and was proud of his garden and the vegetables he grew, and he loved to share them with friends and family. Rollie enjoyed taking walks and made sure to walk three miles a day and enjoy every mile of it! He will be fondly remembered for his big heart and his love of his family, especially of his nieces and nephews.   Rollie is survived by his siblings, Carl (Gail) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Chris (David) Schumacher of Fox Lake, Ernie (Phyllis) Gerth of Horicon, Wayne (Sherry) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Faith (Bill) Stroede of Mayville, and Monica (Dave) Roskopf of Iron Ridge; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Aaroen; and brother, Dennis.    Special thanks to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, the EMS, and Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office for the care and support shown to Rollie and his family.    Dale Francis Raschke, 68, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville.   A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held on March 8, 2025, at Sidelines in Mayville from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., where his children welcome you to share memories and a bowl of Dale’s favorite Chili.   Dale was born on March 7, 1956, the son of John W. and Lidwina P. "Nin" (Bornbach) Raschke in Marshfield. He grew up on the family’s dairy farm in Rozellville, went to Marshfield High School, and worked over 40 years as a welder, with most of those years spent at Metalcraft of Mayville and Maysteel.   Dale, or “Bear” as many fondly called him, loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, watching Packer games, and running several farms in Farmville. He enjoyed a comfy chair and getting lost in the mysteries of space and the unknown with classics like Star Trek, X-Files and Unsolved Mysteries. Dale was a big fan of action-packed movies, especially anything with Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris, but he also had a soft spot for a good belly laugh, especially when watching a good “comical” movie, like National Lampoon’s.   Dale also loved good tunes and good times. You could almost always find him sitting at the kitchen table, jamming out to the likes of the Doors, munching a good Wisconsin sharp cheddar with summer sausage, drinking Busch Lites, smoking cigs and doing scratchers.   He is survived by his children, LeAnn, Jesse and Corey; his grandchildren, Major, Olivia, Reed, and Kane. He is further survived by his brother and sisters, Grace Verhunce of Theresa, John Raschke of West Bend, Lois Verhunce of Allenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.   Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Doris "Dory" Raschke, Jane Raschke, Betty Specht; and brothers, Richard Raschke and Duane Raschke.   Dale’s memory and good-natured spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.   Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville is caring for the family. www.Koepsellfh.com
