Village of Theresa Finalizes Budget and Tax Levy

The Village of Theresa Finance Committee of the Whole held a special meeting on Monday, November 24, to finalize the 2026 budget and tax levy.

The proposed general fund budget was $1,298,770, a 10.99% increase from last year.

The sewer fund and water fund budgets increased more significantly due to recent rate increases. The proposed sewer fund budget was $932,252, increasing from $626,421 last year. The proposed water fund budget was $615,291, increasing from $377,903.

The proposed mill rate and tax levy were 14.904 mills per $1,000 of equalized value, and a levy of $534,688.16.

Committee Chair Dave Brandenburg made the motion to approve the proposed budget and tax levy, which passed 6-0. Trustee Shawn Krapfl was absent from the meeting.
