The City of Horicon Common Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. Mayor Josh Maas and Alderperson Marie Fenske were absent.
During public appearances, Steve N. criticized the actions of the Council saying he felt the City was spending a lot of money and did not have enough transparency. He commented on plans and projects for the Waste and Wastewater Department, City View, the property on South Finch Street, and the downtown area.
The Council approved the repeal and recreation of Chapter 130, sections 130-2 and 130-3, removing the City Clerk-Treasurer and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer positions and transitioning them to a City Clerk and a Director of Finance/Treasurer positions.
The Council approved the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Railroad Award Contract, which the City applied for in 2024.
The City will be applying for the Dodge County Community Development Fund Program. This is the second cycle for the program, and the deadline is July 11. The City could receive a 50% match grant.
The City has also chosen to enter into an agreement with Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP for accounting services.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, at 6 p.m.
