Norbert F. Weinberger

   Norbert (Norb) F. Weinberger, 95, died peacefully on January 20, 2026, at Hope Senior Living located in Lomira.
   He was born January 29, 1930, in the Town of LeRoy to James Weinberger, Sr. and Marie (Bauer) Weinberger.
   A Mass of Christian Burial for Norb was held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 12 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation for Norb was held at church on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon. Following the service, military honors were conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69. Interment was held at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in LeRoy.
   During his formative years, Norb attended St. Andrew’s Grade School in LeRoy. He went on to graduate from Mayville High School, Class of 1947. After high school, he enrolled at St. Norbert’s College in DePere, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, graduating in 1952. While at St. Norbert’s, Norb was a member of the varsity football team for four years, serving as a starting guard for the undefeated 1950’s team. His 1950’s team was eventually inducted into the St. Norbert’s Sports Hall of Fame.
   After graduating from college, Norb married his high school sweetheart, Elvara "Jo" Schaefer. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage, up to Jo’s passing in August 2020. Norb when on to serve in the U.S. Army for two years attaining the rank of First Lieutenant with the 31st Dixie Division during the Korean War. Later on, he became an active member of Mayville’s American Legion Post #69, where you could find him frying burgers or calling out bingo numbers.
   After his military service, Norb spent several years as a high school teacher and coach at Juda Union Free High School. He eventually moved on to join his dad and brother, James (Jim) Weinberger, Jr. as a part owner of LeRoy Locker Service. It was here that he team up with his brother, Jim, and spent the next 35 years building an award-winning fresh meats and sausage making business. During this time, he was a member of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP), serving as their president for three consecutive years.
   Norb was a very active member of St. Andrew’s parish in Leroy, where he was both an instructor and co-coordinator of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) program. Norb was also in charge of the confirmation class as well as serving as a member on the parish council.
   Norb is survived by his sons, Jeff and Dean (Lisa); and daughters, Charlene (Dave) Blaubach and Sandra (Chuck) Parker. He is further survived by his three grandchildren, Chad (Ashley), Jon and Cassy. Also surviving Norb, are two brothers, Dan (Sherry) and Alex (Margo), as well as one sister, Mary Ann (George) Davel.
   Norb was a very loving and caring individual, who will be missed by his family and friends.
