Name: David Fewless
Occupation: Warehouse Coordinator
Community Involvement: I moved here about 4 years ago and I am still learning about the area. I try to join in the community activities as I know they are happening and as time allows.
Why are you running for candidacy: I have always thought about running for a position such as this, now timing and situation allows it. We have a wonderful community, and I would like to help see it flourish and grow, to improve the environment for all the residents here.
What are your qualifications: I have been in a leadership role for about 20 years, I can find solutions around roadblocks to accomplish and complete projects.
What experiences have best prepared you to serve as a Village Trustee: Shift leadership in an extremely fast paced and stressful distribution setting, you have to be at the top of your game at all times and flexible to complete the task at hand. After being in the logistics setting for about thirty years, I understand budgets and the need to stay within the budget to keep the department running.
What do you feel is the biggest issue facing your community in the next year, and what do you plan to do to address it: Over the next couple of years, the plan would be to start replacing water and sewer lines. I will work with all the people involved to keep within the budget and stay within the timeline.
Why should people vote for you: I am relatively new to the area and have met many people who have welcomed me into the community. I am approachable, I listen to what people have to say, strive to offer solutions/suggestions and possess strong communication skills. I am a team player; it takes more than one person to get a good job done. I can offer a new fresh perspective.
Name: James Polster Jr.
Occupation: Self-employed ( Pioneer Keg) 14 yrs.
Community Involvement: President of the Theresa Historical Society-2012, member of St. Theresa Church, Sons of the American Legion Post 270, Village of Theresa trustee since 2017.
Why are you running for candidacy: I’m running because of my business and community relationship in Theresa and being able to help make decisions that benefit the taxpayers. It’s important to have people on the board that have knowledge of the villages history and know the history is important when making decisions for Theresa’s future.
What are your qualifications: I’m a retired 17-year veteran of Brownsville Fire Co. Ems/ Fire. My business experience and day-to-day operations of running a business, accounting, tax filing, having 10 employees and doing a payroll.
What experiences have best prepared you to serve as a Village Trustee: I’m a graduate of Lomira High School and my daughter Alexis is currently a junior at Lomira. My past seven years serving on the village board and as DPW chairman for the past two years. I was born and raised in Theresa.
What do you feel is the biggest issue facing your community in the next year and what do you plan to do to address it: The village water/sewer were constructed in 1954, once your infrastructure reaches 30 years old, you should establish replacing it and that should have started in 1984 and now we are coming up on 71-year-old infrastructure. By being proactive we are fixing what should have been previously addressed. It’s important that we provide the residents with good quality police protection, ambulance and the fire dept. needs operating water lines (hydrants) and that the water is available to fight a fire when needed in an emergency situation. This past year we had 5 water main breaks at $10,000 per repair = 50,000. It’s not cost-effective to spend the taxpayers' money with a band-aid. Having good quality streets is important, but infrastructure below should be addressed before covering up the problem. The Department of Transportation has a schedule when they will be replacing roads on state highways. In 2024 Mayville Rd. (Hwy 67) was addressed and this road was previously redone in the mid-90’s, again this road should have been repaired at that time. In 2027, Hwy 175 is scheduled for a rebuild street project and the village has to address the water and sewer utilities.
Why should people vote for you: As village trustee, it’s not just about a monthly meeting. It’s important that village employees and taxpayers can count on you. Being on the board is a 365-day elected position. I’m always available to talk to any village resident at my business and will always return your call. I appreciate your vote on February 18.

I am a former member of the Theresa Fire Department/EMS (1977-1995).

This will include all new utilities under the highway, bridge restoration and all new sidewalks, curb, gutters, storm sewers and pavement replacement. We are also working with WE Energies at enhancing our downtown area with new street lighting and power lines.
Why should people vote for you: I have been a lifelong resident of the Village of Theresa and I believe people should vote for me because of my vast knowledge of the Village of Theresa. I want to make Theresa a place that is attractive to visitors and residents. I believe the Village’s greatest assets are the Rock River, the businesses within the Village, and the residents. I would like to continue to work on cutting down the amount of inflow and infiltration of groundwater seeping into our sewer system. We are slowly replacing our old infrastructure underground and we are also promoting new housing in the Village. It is my firm belief that the Village of Theresa is heading in a positive direction.
