The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) recently recognized several Mayville High School football players for their outstanding performances both on and off the field this season.

Senior Devin Wendorff earned WFCA Academic All-State honors, distinguishing himself among the state’s top student-athletes who excel in the classroom as well as in competition.

On the field, Region 3-Small All-Region selections included seniors Owen Steger and Landen Baker, both of whom played pivotal roles in Mayville’s success this season.

Steger earned All-Region honors for both offensive line and defensive line, showcasing his versatility and dominance in the trenches. Defensively, he recorded an impressive 62 total tackles, including 25 solo tackles, 20 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery during the 2025-26 campaign.

Baker was named All-Region at running back after a standout senior season that saw him rush 222 times for 1,556 yards, averaging seven yards per carry, and scoring 22 rushing touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game with seven receptions for 150 yards (21.4 yards per catch) and one receiving touchdown, with his longest play from scrimmage covering 87 yards.

Both Steger and Baker also earned WFCA Small Schools All-State honors—one of the highest distinctions for high school football players in Wisconsin. Steger was selected for his work at offensive line and defensive line, while Baker was named All-State running back, recognizing their elite performance among small-school athletes statewide.

These honors highlight the dedication, talent, and leadership that continue to define Mayville football’s tradition of excellence both on the gridiron and in the classroom.
