Mayville High School staged its production of “Mamma Mia” in December, earning several nominations for the prestigious Jerry Awards. The awards, which recognize excellence in high school musical theater, will be presented in May at the Overture Center in Madison.
The nominations spanned both performance and production categories:

Performer in a Lead Role:

Outstanding Choreography:

Outstanding Lighting Design and Outstanding Stage Crew:

Additional nominations include Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Direction, and Spirit Award, with Spirit nominations going to Serenity Mahoney and Sidney Daley.
The Cardinals have a history of earning accolades. In 2024, the Mayville cast and crew of “Chicago” achieved significant success at the Jerry Awards, securing five awards.
John Dobbratz received honors for Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Direction, and Outstanding Musical Direction; JD Cooney was recognized for Outstanding Musical Direction; Alle Gourlie was awarded Outstanding Performer for her role as Velma Kelly; and both Jessica Reinke and Gage Runte received Spirit Awards.
