Last week, our group gave special thanks to the dedicated WIAA officials who play a vital role in making high school sports possible. Officials commit countless hours to ensuring fair play, athlete safety, and a positive game environment, often under challenging circumstances.
To show our appreciation, the Sportsmanship Group stocked the officials’ room with water and assorted treats to help them feel welcomed and valued. In addition, thank-you notes have been posted throughout the room, sharing messages of gratitude and encouragement from our school community.
Our hope is that these small gestures send a powerful message: our officials are respected, appreciated, and an essential part of high school athletics. The Marshmanship Project is proud to support efforts that strengthen relationships between athletes, coaches, fans, and officials, and to promote a culture of sportsmanship both on and off the court.
We would also like to give thanks to Sweet Chatchaya, a local bakery, for supporting our mission and donating funds to help our group provide for our officials.
