The Horicon Marshladies (8-10) secured a victory against Johnson Creek (2-15) on Saturday, Jan. 31, with a final score of 57-29.
The game started strong for Horicon, with Azelyn Heller recording two early steals, setting the defensive tone. Sarah Hodgson followed up with a key defensive play, breaking up a pass and taking it the length of the court for a layup.
The Marshladies’ offense found its rhythm early, with Aubrey Ehrlich sinking a three-pointer to extend the lead to 14-4. Ehrlich was a consistent threat from beyond the arc, hitting another three-pointer in the second half to help push the score to 28-13. Cassidy Wittnebel also contributed with a three-pointer with over ten minutes left in the game.
The defense continued to shine, with Olivia Wittnebel immediately following with a steal. With the score at 41-25, Emily Bunkoske added two late three-pointers—one to cap off the run and another with just over a minute left—to finalize the comfortable 57-29 win for the Marshladies.
While strong on defense, Hodgson also shined on offense, leading the team with 24 points.
