The Horicon varsity volleyball team faced a challenging week, taking Parkview to five sets Thursday before competing in five matches at the Beaver Dam tournament Saturday.
Horicon traveled to Parkview on Thursday, Sept. 10, where the Marshladies battled through five sets before falling 3-2. The match marked Horicon’s second five-set contest of the season.
The Marshladies returned to the court Saturday for a full day of competition at Beaver Dam, finishing seventh in the tournament.
Horicon faced a strong tournament field, dropping 2-0 matches to Oshkosh West, host Beaver Dam, Campbellsport and Waukesha North.
The Marshladies closed out the tournament on a positive note, defeating Green Bay Southwest 2-0 to finish the day with a victory.
Horicon went 1-5 over the week, with Saturday giving the Marshladies a chance to face programs outside their regular-season schedule.
Horicon (6-7, 1-1) returns home Tuesday, Sept. 15, for conference play with Valley Christian (7-4, 2-0) after print time.
