On December 30, the Lomira boys’ wrestling team finished in 52nd place out of 66 teams with 32 points at the Lourdes On the Water Wrestling Classic in Oshkosh, with four of their wrestlers competing at the two-day event.
Jordan Lisiecki led the Lions with a seventh-place finish in the 132 weight class at the meet, and Kolton Wagoner finished in 12th place in the 175 weight class for Lomira.
Lisiecki won his 100th match with a win against a conference rival from Omro during the meet.
“Jordan wrestled technically sound in the tournament that put several quality wrestlers on the defensive,” said Head Coach Jamie Feucht. “Jordan looks forward to tournaments as he seeks challenging competition, which can be challenging in smaller duals and tournaments where opponents are moved away from him to protect their records.”
“Jayden came close to the placing round when his relentless offense was countered, but he learned a lesson in that match. I am proud that he always drives to score the next point rather than try to salt away a match protecting the lead,” said Feucht.
“Kolton fought his way through the backside of the bracket with great offensive scoring against some tough competition,” said Feucht.
At Waukesha West
Lomira girls wrestling was led by Aeryona Cronin’s third-place finish in the 185 weight class at the Waukesha West Holiday Invite.
Lomira wrestling will travel to Laconia on January 8 at 7 p.m.
