LOMIRA – On June 16, Lomira Softball Players Trista Gassner and Haleigh Caspary played in the WFSCA All-Star Game at the Woodside Sports Complex in Wisconsin Dells after a banquet on June 15.
Trista Gassner started playing at age four and became a four-year starter for the Lions, winning the Flyway Player Conference of the Year and helping lead the Lions to their first state title in program history as a senior.
Gassner was a three-time first-team all-conference player in her freshman, junior, and senior years, plus honorable mention as a sophomore.
Trista was a two-time captain with honorable mention all-state selection as a sophomore and all-district selections as first team in sophomore year and honorable mention as a junior.

“My favorite moment was winning the conference for the first time in school history last season,” said Trista Gassner.
Softball is important to Gassner because it shaped her into the person she is today.
“It taught me how to preserve, be a leader, and fight through adversity even in the hardest moments,” said Gassner. “Softball also brought me my best friends, who I will have for the rest of my life, and I will be forever grateful for that.”
“My family has always been my biggest influence since day one, with my mom and dad coaching me ever since I was little, and I always look to them every time I succeed or fail,” said Gassner. “My sister, Tenley, is also another big influence of mine as she has gone through it all and knows what it’s like.”
Gassner will attend Rock Valley College to play softball while earning her degree.
