Lomira’s Jake Broeske was voted as the Flyway Conference Boys Basketball Player of the Year and named to the WBCA Division 4 All-State team to cap off his senior year by leading the Lions to an undefeated conference championship and a sectional final appearance after returning from a knee injury in his junior season.
Broeske was a two-time first-team all-conference player in his sophomore and senior seasons, with an honorable mention selection during his freshman year, plus being on the conference’s all-defensive teams in his sophomore and senior years for the Lions.
He finished his Lomira career as all-time Lomira scoring leader with 1369 points and rebounding leader with 954 rebounds as a four-year starter for the Lions, and also was a three-time all-state academic recipient, plus one of the top 15 boys selected by WBCA as an elite individual academic all-state in his senior year.
“My favorite basketball moments in my career are this year’s comeback win against Xavier, where I became the all-time leading scorer, and playing all around the country with my AAU team against the best teams in the nation,” said Jake Broeske.
