On January 8, Lomira wrestling lost 38-37 to Laconia on a tiebreaker decision on the road in their conference meet.
The Lions were led by Jordan Lisiecki and Kolton Wagoner, winning by Technical fall, plus Jayden Gibson and Trent Kulczewski winning by pin.
“The Flyway conference is putting on some very competitive duals,” said Head Coach Jamie Feucht. “The outcome is not as important to me as a wrestler who uses the technique they are taught and gives each match their best effort.”
“I was proud to see Edgar step up from JV tonight and go on the attack against a ranked wrestler,” said Feucht. “Jayden demonstrated his technique and tactical thinking in his win.”
“Cyle showed grit in his match as he nearly came back to win it,” said Feucht.
Lomira wrestling will host NFDL/Springs on January 15, and then the Lions will host Omro on January 16, with meet times at 7 p.m. The girls’ wrestling team will travel to Wausau West on January 17 at 9 a.m.
