Lomira Wrestling Gets Closer to Flyway Conference Title with Win Over Laconia

On January 23, Lomira wrestling beat Laconia 36-32 on the road in their conference matchup.
The Lions were led by Marshall Hanke in the 138 weight class, Marek Lisiecki in the 144 weight class, and Josh Polster in the 285 weight class in the Flyway Conference match to get one step closer to the conference championship.
“Laconia is always a tough opponent for us with narrowly escaping with a win,” said Head Coach Adam Kinyon. “We need to use it as a reality check as it showed us a lot of things that we need to work on in the next few weeks leading up to the conference tournament.”

Brawl at the Bears Den
On January 24, Lomira girls wrestling finished in 16th place with 20 team points at the Brawl at the Bears Den at Bonduel High School.
Aeryona Cronin led the way with a third place finish in the 185 weight class for the girls’ wrestling team.
Terry Kramer Open
On January 25, Lomira wrestling finished in seventh place with 255 team points at the Terry Kramer Open (TKO) at Fort Atkinson High School.
“The TKO is always a good tough tournament fo end the regular season tournament seaason with the high level of competition prepares us well for the postseason.”
Jordan Lisiecki paced the Lions with a first place finish in the 113 weight class during Saturday’s match at TKO as the second Lomira wrestler ever to win a championship at the TKO.
“Jordan flew through the field without too many problems,” said Kinyon.
Marshall Hanke in the 138 weight class and Marek Lisiecki in the 150 weight class each competed for their individual weight titles at the wrestling open before falling in their first-place matches to finish in second place on the day.
“Hanke lost a heartbreakerr in his match by a score of 11-10 and M. Lisiecki lost his finals match to a 2024 State Champion,” said Kinyon.
Lomira wrestling will travel to WLA on January 30 at 7 p.m. and to St. Lawrence on January 31 at 6 p.m. The Lomira girls wrestling team will go to Whitefish Bay on February 1 at 9:30 a.m.
