Posted

On April 11, Lomira softball beat Winneconne 15-0 in three innings in their non-conference matchup.
Lomira (4-2) started off fast in the first inning by scoring six runs which featured an RBl single from Savanna Frea and a blast over the left field fence by Taylor Bloohm for a three-run home run to give the Lions a commanding 6-0 lead over Winneconne (2-3).
The Lions continued their hot bats with scoring nine more runs in the second inning, starting with a Nora Buske double which was followed by an S. Frea single then RBI singles by Bloohm and Haleigh Caspary to give Lomira an 8-0 lead.
Lillian Christian continued the scoring burst with a two-run RBI single and Trista Gassner got into the RBI single mix to put the score at 11-0 for Lomira. The Lions weren’t done when Buske hit another double in the inning, this time driving in two more runs before Bloohm finished the impressive hitting display with a sacrifice fly to place the Lomira runs at 15 for the game.

Caspary and Buske combined for a three-inning no-hitter on the pitching mound to secure the 15-0 victory for the mighty Lions.
The Lomira offense was led by Taylor Bloohm’s five runs batted in and Lillian Christian’s three runs batted in for the impressive Lions’ bats.
At Laconia

Laconia (1-1, 4-2) jumped on Lomira (1-1, 4-2) early with two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead over the Lions.
The Spartans scored two more runs in the third and fifth innings to increase their lead to 5-0 on a day when Lomira’s usually explosive offense was limited to one hit in the contest.
Lomira couldn’t get on the scoreboard in the final two innings and left the diamond with a 5-0 loss on the cool, spring evening.

Lomira (1-1, 4-2) was able to take a 1-0 lead over WLA (0-2, 1-3) in the first inning thanks to an RBI single by Savanna Frea.
The Lions increased their lead to 2-0 after Nora Buske hit a triple and then was driven in by S. Frea’s RBI double for Lomira.

The Lions were able to get the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning where they were able to manufacture five runs to cross home plate without getting a hit to secure the 11-1 conference victory in five innings.
