Lomira Soccer Season Preview
Head Coach: Chris Keiler
The Lomira High School Varsity Soccer team is looking forward to a new season after having graduated the core of the team; opportunities for players to step up into new leadership roles will be plentiful.
“Returning Juniors Wyatt Crego and Henry Zenner will play key roles in directing what will be a young team on the field,” said Head Coach Chris Kelier. “Additionally, Lucas Kiehnau will be returning to soccer again for his junior year and will certainly be an impactful player.”
“A young core of skilled freshman players will be an important factor in our team’s success this year,” said Keiler. “This season, we aim to finish with a .500 record in the conference and a .500 record overall. “
“The Lomira Lions will enter the season committed to an aggressive, possession-oriented system built around intelligent decision-making, quick ball movement, strong communication, and coordinated team play,” said Keiler
“Offensively, the Lions will look to create width and space, move defenders, and attack the final third with purpose, while defensively emphasizing compactness, disciplined pressing, physical play, and quick reactions in transition,” said Keiler.
“The team’s goals are to continually improve their tactical execution, become stronger and more connected as a team over the season, and compete confidently in every match,” said Keiler.
“Just as importantly, the Lions aim to represent Lomira with pride by demonstrating leadership, accountability, teamwork, and respect throughout the season,” said Keiler.
