Lomira Girls Basketball Falls to Foxes

On January 20, the Lomira girls’ basketball team lost 62-52 to Omro at home in their Flyway Conference matchup.
Lomira (12-4, 5-3) got a three-pointer from Kennedy Goebel to close the gap on the scoreboard to 8-7 against Omro (12-3, 5-3).
Whitney Witkowski knocked a three-point shot to tie the game at 20 before the Foxes went into the halftime break with a 22-20 lead.
Josie Christian made a three-pointer to help Lomira take a 28-27 lead before Omro reclaimed the lead at 30-28 early in the second half.

Lomira’s J. Christian’s shot-making wasn’t done when she drilled a three with a patented step-back three-point shot in the corner, which tied up the game at 35 for both teams.
The Lions held a 39-38 lead before Omro jumped out to 46-43, but J. Christian showed her defensive abilities with a steal and converted the theft into two points, cutting the Foxes’ lead to 46-45.
Lomira wasn’t able to get any closer in the game as Omro pulled away with a 62-52 win to split the season series between the conference foes.
Josie Christian led Lomira with 23 points in the Flyway Conference showdown.
Lomira girls’ basketball traveled to Campbellsport on January 27, after print time. Then the Lions will travel to Laconia on January 29 at 7 p.m. and will host Oakfield on February 2 at 7:15 p.m.
