Lomira Boys Soccer won their home opener 4-2 over Stockbridge to give the Lions a win to start their season.

Lomira’s freshman Abram Keiler scored the first career goal to give the Lions a 1-0 lead at the 16-minute mark in the first half and Juan Rosas put Lomira up 2-0 in the 36th minute mark.

The Lions struck fast in the second half with a goal from Alexis Javier in the opening minute of the second half to give Lomira a 3-0 lead.

Lomira got their fourth goal of the evening when freshman Oliver Eide knocked in a goal to put the Lions ahead 4-0 in the 48th minute.

Stockbridge was able to score a couple late second-half goals to make the final score closer, with the Lions winning 4-2 in the opener.

“We possessed the ball well with over 70% of the possession and completing nearly 90% of our passes,” said Head Coach Chris Keiler. “Our early season emphasis on formation, first touch, and quality passing options showed throughout the game.”

Lomira soccer plays at Omro on September 3 at 4:30 p.m. and at Lodi on September 5 at 9 a.m.
