Lomira Baseball has a Productive Week with Three Wins

Game Two vs Port Washington
On April 19, Lomira baseball beat Port Washington 10-9 in walk-off fashion to get their second win of the day.
Port Washington (4-4) held a 2-0 lead over Lomira (7-2) going into the bottom of the second inning when Dalton Zingsheim scored a run to get the Lions on the scoreboard.
The Lions were able to tie the game with a Jonah Mason RBI single to make the score 2-2 after three innings.

The Pirates took back the lead in the top of the fourth inning before a Brody Luedtke RBI single tied the back at three runs apiece with four innings of baseball played.
Port Washington scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning, but in this back-and-forth game between the Pirates and Lions, Lomira responded with four runs, featuring RBI singles from Mason and Jackson Goebel capped off by an RBI double from B. Luedkte to give the Lions a 7-6 lead.
Lomira’s lead didn’t last long, with the Pirates scoring three runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-7 lead before the Lions came to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Lions got three singles in the sixth inning, with Goebel’s single driving in the tying run to tie the high-scoring game at nine runs for both teams.
Lomira would get the final run in the game when Easton Zangl drove in B. Luedtke on a sacrifice fly to right field to give the Lions the 10-9 walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Lions’ offense was paced by Jonah Mason, Jackson Goebel, and Brody Luedtke, each driving in two runs in the non-conference victory.
“I am proud of the boys today as we bounced back from our loss on Thursday in a big way with our approaches at the plate were better and the results showed that our mentality was different today by scoring 20 runs was results of doing the little things right today,” said Head Coach Sid Lehman. “Our leaders on the team really stepped up and performed at the top of their game with the boys have been using the word “fight” all season in big moments, today, they fought in those big moments.”
Game One at Kewaskum
On April 19, Lomira baseball beat Kewaskum 10-4 in their first game of the triangular at Kewaskum High School.
Lomira (7-2) got their offense going with three runs in the third inning against Kewaskum (5-4), featuring RBI doubles from Brody Luedtke and Easton Zangl to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.
The Lions added two runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by Jonah Mason hitting an RBI single to extend the Lomira lead to 5-0 over Kewaskum.
Dalton Zingsheim hit an RBI double to push the Lions’ lead to a commanding 7-0 in the top of the fifth inning before the Indians scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to close the gap in the game to 7-4 in favor of Lomira.
Lomira got the bases loaded, which the Lions converted into two runs with Zangl contributing an RBI single to the Lions’ cause in the sixth inning for a 9-4 lead.
Jonah Mason got his fourth hit of the day in the seventh inning, and B. Luedtke finished the Lions’ scoring in their 10-4 win with an RBI double for the Lions.
Weston Poth pitched four shutout innings to start the game for Lomira, and the offense was led by Brody Luedtke and Easton Zangl, combining for the five runs batted in for the Lions’ win.
“Weston threw the ball well on the mound, and Jackson came in to hold the lead in his two-inning appearance,” said Lehman.
At NFDL
On April 17, Lomira baseball lost 1-0 to NFDL in the second game between the two teams in three days.
NFDL (2-3, 1-3) scored the only run of the game in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead over Lomira (7-2, 3-1).
Lomira’s normal potent offense was limited two hits in the matchup and couldn’t capitalize with runners in scoring position during the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, which saw NFDL leave the field with a surprising 1-0 win after losing to the Lions by 20 runs on Tuesday.
Dalton Zingsheim pitched a strong six innings on the mound by striking out eight Orioles batters in the Flyway matchup.
Vs Lomira
On April 15, Lomira baseball beat NFDL 20-0 in five innings at home against their Flyway Conference foe.
Lomira’s (7-2, 3-1) batting with five hits and base running with five steals contributed to push the Lions to an 8-0 lead over NFDL (2-3, 1-3) in the first inning thanks to two-run RBI singles by Jack Luedtke and Kolton Wagoner.
The Lions chased the Orioles starting pitching in the second inning with no outs after taking a 12-0 lead, highlighted by an RBI triple by Dalton Zingsheim.
Lomira got RBI singles from J. Luedtke, Taylor Schaumberg, Brody Luedtke, and Wagoner to extend their lead to 15-0 after two innings.
The Lions scored five more runs in the bottom of the third inning to give themselves the winning score of 20-0, which they finished off NFDL in five innings on the evening.
Lomira’s impressive offense was led by Jack Luedtke’s three hits and three RBIs, with four pitchers combining to shutout the Orioles to get the conference win for the Lions.
Lomira baseball traveled to Campbellsport on April 22 and hosts Campbellsport on April 24 and Fond du Lac on April 25.
