Lomira Baseball Gets Win at Kohler

On April 27, Lomira baseball defeated Kohler 3-1 on the road in a non-conference matchup.
Lomira (2-7) broke through in the third inning when the Lions were facing two outs, Jackson Bloohm hit a two-run RBI single to right field, and Dawson Casper hit a RBI double to give Lomira a 3-0 lead over Kohler (3-6).
Kohler scored their only run of the game in the fifth inning, making the score 3-1 in favor of the Lions.
The Lions were holding a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning when Kohler loaded bases, but Lane Pastorius was able to get the final out, saving the game for starter Maddox Bodden, who pitched 6.2 innings, allowing only one run in the game to get the win for Lomira.

Charlie Cole led the Lions offense with three hits in the 3-1 victory for Lomira.
Vs Random Lake
On April 24, Lomira baseball lost 10-7 to Random Lake at home in a high-scoring non-conference contest.
Lomira’s (2-7) Maddox Bodden started the game with a leadoff single when Bodden was driven in by Jackson Bloohm’s RBI single to give the Lions a 1-0 lead in the first inning over Random Lake (11-0).
Random Lake scored three runs in the third inning and six runs in the fourth inning to take a 9-1 lead before Kolton Wagoner hit an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 9-2 in favor of the Rams.
The Rams added a run in the sixth inning to increase the lead to 10-2, but Lomira’s bats got going when Logan Wendler hit a RBI triple, and the Lions got the bases loaded for the second straight inning with two outs.
Wagoner ripped a triple with an opposite field hit to left, clearing the bases with three runs batted in, and came around to score on a passed ball to close the gap to 10-7 against the Rams.
Lomira’s comeback attempt was ended by the Rams, resulting in Random Lake securing the 10-7 victory.
Kolton Wagoner led the Lomira offense with three hits and four runs batted in the matchup.
“We, as a team, are working on things as a team, and I felt we grew this week as a team,” said Head Coach Sid Lehman. “Getting those small things right will help us continue to grow and lead to success, especially on the correct side of the scorebox.”
At NFDL/Oakfield
On April 23, Lomira baseball lost 9-3 to NFDL/Oakfield on the road, losing the season series to the O’s.
NFDL/Oakfield (4-2, 4-0) had a 2-0 lead by hitting a home run in the first inning over Lomira (2-7, 1-4) before the Lions got a leadoff double from Lane Pastorius to start the second inning.
Maddox Bodden followed with a single, and Dawson Casper hit an RBI single to push across the Lions’ first run of the inning.
Blake Steger tied up the game for the Lomira with an RBI single after the Lions loaded the bases to tie the game at two to wrap the top of the second inning.
Lomira had an opportunity to take the lead in the third inning with the bases loaded, but the Lions couldn’t get any runs across the plate.
NFDL/Oakfield hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning and added two more runs in the fourth inning to take control of the game at 7-2.
The Lions got a Sac Fly from Cooper King in the fifth inning before the O’s added two more runs at the bottom of the inning to secure the 9-3 conference victory.
Lomira was led by Kotlon Wagoner’s three hits and Logan Wendler’s striking out ten batters in the four innings on the mound.
Vs NFDL/Oakfield
On April 21, Lomira baseball lost 9-3 to NFDL/Oakfield at home in their Flyway conference matchup.
NFDL/Oakfield (4-2, 4-0) scored runs in each of the first four innings to take a 7-0 lead over Lomira (2-7, 1-4).
The Lions got an RBI single from Jackson Bloohm and a steal of home by Emmitt Todl in the fifth inning to make the score 7-2 in favor of NFDL/Oakfield.
NFDL/Oakfield scored two more runs in the sixth, and Lomira added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the final score 9-3 in favor of the road team.
