Lomira Alum Jamie Feucht Named New Wrestling Coach

Posted

Jamie Feucht was named the new varsity wrestling coach for Lomira for the 2025-26 season.
Lomira has won back-to-back conference championships in 2023-24 and 2024-25, with both seasons featuring one state-qualifying returning wrestler - Jordan Lisiecki.
“I began as an involved parent working with the middle school wrestling program in 2010 and continued supporting the program as an assistant on the high school level in 2013,” said new Head Coach Jamie Feucht. “I was also an assistant high school football coach for nine years.”
“Lomira Wrestling is in a great position to continue its tradition of being at the top of the conference and wrestling into the postseason,” said Feucht. “Lomira’s strength and conditioning program will continue to prepare our wrestlers and decrease their chances of injury.”

“Lomira Wrestling’s long-standing tradition of being leaders on the mat, in the classroom, and in the community is what fuels my continued involvement,” said Feucht.
“We have a great tradition of providing knowledgeable coaches who understand the goals of the youth and middle school programs. Lomira’s youth program is designed to provide the students with an entry-level look into wrestling fundamentals and increase their body awareness as they grow, with opportunities to attend tournaments,” said Feucht. “Middle school wrestling provides a more structured look at the sport through an increased focus on technique with competitive dual meets and tournaments.”
”The Lomira School District is full of opportunities for everyone to be involved, and the school has a co-curricular opportunity for every student to belong to and take ownership of their experience,” said Feucht. “Lomira, Theresa, and Brownsville areas have endless opportunities for community members to become involved and lead by example, teaching our children the importance of community service, with groups like the Lions Club, Legion, volunteer fire departments, and Friends of Lomira Parks, which are all great organizations to get involved with.”
“The Flyway Conference is a microcosm of the world we live in, with the schools being small, and each coach is working with limited participants and multi-sport athletes who are competing while facing all of life’s demands and personal challenges,” said Feucht. “We all compete with passion, and the rivalries are deeply rooted, but in the end, we would all stop what we are doing and lend a hand to each other in a time of need. Recently, athletes, coaches, and communities have rallied to support each other in times of tornadoes, family illness, and loss of loved ones.”
“The most important role of a coaching staff is to engage with every athlete that steps into the wrestling room and provide them with the skills and opportunity to improve themselves as an individual while functioning as a team,” said Feucht. “This program has seen students join to have fun and challenge themselves, as well as multiple athletes who took up wrestling as freshmen and placed at state before they graduated. Regardless of the results of the competitions, coaches prepare the students who leave the program to go on to make the world a better place.”
“The long-term goals for the program are to develop life skills through the sport of wrestling, preparing our wrestlers to move head-on into the challenges of the world,” said Feucht. “When students wrestle, they learn to face physical and mental challenges. As a coaching staff, we will provide them with the tools to improve their self-confidence, self-discipline, and character. We will also be a leader in sportsmanship on the mat and in the stands.”
