Lomira 8th Grade Food Drive

Posted

On May 12, the Lomira 8th graders finished collecting 584 items for their food and supply drive.
The food is heading to the Lomira Food Pantry, and the supplies went to the Solutions Center in Fond du Lac.
During the 4th Quarter, the 8th graders have been participating in an Enrichment Class focused on community connection and service.
The class is designed to help students step outside the classroom, discover the world around them, and recognize the meaningful contributions they can make right here in our community.

What we have been doing:
• Hearing from local nonprofit leaders and community members through guest presentations
• Participating in group service projects that directly benefit our local community
• Exploring what it means to be an engaged and responsible community member
Our Goals for Students
• Have a deeper understanding of the local nonprofit sector and community needs
• Feel confident in their ability to contribute meaningfully to others
• Recognize the unique skills and talents they have to offer the world
• Leave 8th grade with a sense of purpose and connection to their community
The 8th graders are working really hard and reflecting on how they can make a difference. We are so proud of what they have accomplished so far and how these skills can help them in the future.
