Vs Campbellsport

“Words can’t express my gratitude for these three seniors,” said Head Coach Nick Kohler. “They are unbelievably coachable, and great basketball players.”
Lomira (22-1, 13-0) held an 8-4 lead over Campbellsport (7-15, 4-9), featuring a corner three-pointer from Todl and a three from Keegan Kell.
“Cade hitting the first three of the game was an awesome way to start the night,” said Kohler.

Campbellsport closed the gap to 25-18 before Lomira closed out the half an 13-5 stretch to take a 38-23 halftime lead thanks to six more points from Broeske.

Lomira continued to control the game with the lead ballooning to 74-35 before closing out the 74-45 conference victory.
Jake Broeske’s 29 points and Hunter Duley’s 14 points paced the way for the Lions to push their home record to 13-1 on the season.
“It was fitting on Senior Night, I thought Hunter and Jake had their best games of the year,” said Kohler.
At Springs
On Feb 17, the Lomira boys basketball team beat St. Mary’s Springs Academy 72-27 on the road to win the Flyway Conference Championship for the first time since 2000.

Springs scored five straight points before the Lions went on a 13-0 scoring stretch highlighted by Blake Steger and Kell combining for nine of those points, which included Kell’s third three-pointer of the half to increase Lomira’s lead to 45-16.
Broeske scored four more points, and Maddox Bodden added a basket to give Lomira a commanding 50-20 halftime lead over the Ledgers.
Kell scored in the lane, and Cole knocked a three-pointer in the corner to push the Lions’ lead to 55-20 over Springs.
Lomira was leading 55-24 with 15:45 left in the second half when the Lions scored nine consecutive points, featuring a three-point play from Broeske and Cole scoring five straight points, including his fourth three-pointer of the game to give Lomira a 63-24 lead in the conference contest.
“When we get stops, our offense is very hard to guard, and I think the last 3-4 weeks our defense has taken a step forward and we in turn have been better offensively,” said Kohler.
The Ledgers scored their last points of the game with 9:48 left in the game, and Lomira’s defense shut them down the rest way on to their 72-27 conference clinching victory.
“I think there were a lot of expectations for this group, and at times we felt that pressure, for to be one game away from an undefeated season speaks to the talent and composure we have shown,” said Kohler.
Jake Broeske led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds plus Charlie Cole and Keegan Kell combined for seven three-pointers in the win.
Lomira received a number one seed and a first-round bye in the WIAA Boys Basketball Tournament in Division four. The Lions will host the winner of #8 Nekoosa/#9 Necedah on March 6 at 7 p.m.
